The Inaugural Gathering

Each month Love Wavelength brings together ambitious creatives at an intimate gathering. On Sunday, May 19, 2019 seven of the most determined people we know in NYC came together for the first Gathering. We ate, drank, and connected through an interactive activity. Then we heard from two badass and inspiring women.

We had 2 designers, a photographer, a musician, 2 software engineers, and a fashion producer in attendance. We connected over the theme of May’s Newsletter: Perseverance. The issue focused on how to persevere through self-doubt and create new inner dialogues.

We made custom handmade notebooks for each guest and used them for our sharing activity.

The first activity was about what makes you particularly unique or awesome. We invited the group to write or draw their response. It’s important to leverage the qualities that define our individuality. By acknowledging your uniqueness, you learn more about yourself and your strengths/weaknesses.

The second activity was about struggle. We encouraged the room to share how they’re approaching a current issue in their life. The purpose of this was twofold. Many creatives share the same problems and we often don’t realize that. Hearing how others are overcoming their challenges can often inspire us. If we look at our own struggles from a different angle, then we can be better informed in our approach. This is how growth happens.

Our guest speakers were Dana Scruggs and Tündi Szász.
